The District Councillor for Torworth is Gerald Bowers.
I was born in Langold, grew up in Carlton-in-Lindrick and I’ve lived in Bassetlaw for many years.
I served in the British Army and later went to university where I graduated with an MBA. I worked in higher education as an academic at Nottingham Trent University, a manager at the University of Nottingham and senior manager at the University of Northampton.
Having also worked in the private sector, I have significant experience in business development including working overseas providing business support to British and other multinational organisations.
I’m now involved in various community activities. As the founder and leader of the Bassetlaw Coronavirus Covid-19 Support Group. A volunteer worker for Operation Oasis delivering food parcels to the community. I’m also the volunteer Caseworker in North Nottinghamshire for SSAFA The Armed Forces Charity.
I take a very strong interest in local issues and helping residents.
Monthly Surgeries - Ranskill Ward
Please see my 2021 timetable for my monthly surgeries. Residents can drop in to see me and discuss any issues you want to raise or perhaps you need help with something. Maybe you just want to call in and say hello. I will also provide 'roving surgeries' to help residents who don't use social media. I will deliver a leaflet in advance, with my contact telephone number, posted through letters boxes in some streets and I will then return on a given day to visit residents at home. If you wish to raise an issue or seek help on behalf of another resident please call me or send an email:
